Helen Kopec

This site is a brief overview of who I am as an educator.

I am a graduate of DePaul University's Graduate School of Education with a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a minor in Art.

My student teaching was recently completed at the Latin School of Chicago.

I am fully certified with my Elementary Education Type 3 Teaching Certificate and hold my middle school endorsement.   I am fluent Polish speaker.

I have three years experience in an educational setting in various roles including: Assistant Teacher, Extended Day Teacher, Camp Counslor and After School Recreation Teacher.

I see each child as an individual with different strengths with different areas for reinforcement and believe in teaching to the whole student. My best practice method is a diversified approach with an integrated curriculum.  I also feel it is important to teach with a multicultural perspective as it encourages appreciation and understanding of other cultures as well as one's own.
